Essential Educational Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible for the post:
Postgraduate Degree: A Master’s in Economics or an MBA in Finance from a recognized university, along with 20 years of experience in handling power sector matters, particularly those related to tariffs.
OR
Engineering Degree: A Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 20 years of relevant experience, of which at least 5 years should be at a managerial level in a large power utility.
Additionally, candidates must have served for at least two years in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 1,10,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 16,900) or in an equivalent pay scale.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience of AERC Recruitment 2024
Though not mandatory, the following qualifications are desirable:
- Experience in managing electricity tariffs, commercial issues, and power purchase agreements.
- Background as a Power Engineer with comprehensive knowledge in Generation, Transmission, and Distribution.
- Familiarity with Electricity Laws is a plus.
- Professional experience as an economist or power engineer in the electricity sector.
Age Limit
As of January 1, 2024, the maximum age limit for this position is 55 years. However, candidates applying on a contract basis can be up to 62 years old.
