Walk-In-Interview Details

Job Responsibilities of GIS Assistant
The GIS Assistant will be responsible for various technical tasks related to the digitization of geospatial data and land mapping. Specific duties include:
- Geospatial Data Management: Digitizing cadastral and non-cadastral village data.
- Cadastral Map Updates: Updating cadastral maps within the Bhunaksha system.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of GIS data through rigorous quality checks.
- Report Preparation: Creating GIS-related reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Technical Support: Providing technical assistance to team members and end-users.
- Drone Data Interpretation: Analyzing drone imagery and high-resolution satellite images (HRSI) for land mapping.
- Surveying Equipment Use: Utilizing advanced tools like RTK GNSS Rovers, Electronic Total Stations (ETS), and DGPS for land surveys.
- Other Duties: Handling any additional digitization or computer-based work as assigned by the Circle Officer.
Eligibility Criteria for GIS Assistant Post of DC Office Sivasagar Recruitment 2024
Age Limit
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 45 years of age as of 1st January 2024.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates applying for the GIS Assistant post must meet the following educational requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Geoinformatics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.
- Alternatively, an M.Tech/M.Sc. in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics.
- Other relevant qualifications include MCA, M.A, or M.Sc. in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, or Environmental Science, with Geo-informatics as one of the subjects or a certification in GIS/Remote Sensing.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in popular GIS software like ArcGIS, QGIS, and Global Mapper.
- Familiarity with spatial data formats such as Shape files, GeoJSON, and KML.
- A working knowledge of geospatial analysis, image processing, drone surveys, and the use of modern land mapping techniques.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently.
- While prior GIS experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with one year of relevant work experience in a GIS-related role or internship will be given preference. Special consideration will also be extended to candidates trained in RCCC (Record of Rights in Land and Revenue) and those with a command over GIS applications.
Required Skills
To excel in the role of GIS Assistant, candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in GIS Software: Knowledge of Arc Desktop, Arc Pro, AutoCAD, and Global Mapper.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs/Spreadsheets.

Remuneration for GIS Assistant Post
The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹25,000.
